How to Start a Cryptocurrency Website in 5 Step

1) Choose a niche

A cryptocurrency niche is one of three things: an altcoin, a site that reviews cryptocurrency, or an informational site about cryptocurrency. For example, if you want to start a website about Dogecoin and Bitcoin then you would choose either altcoin or informational category for your website.

If you chose altcoin then your niche would be dogecoin and bitcoin and if you chose informational category then your niche would be dogecoin and bitcoin information. Before you start any cryptocurrency website there are some things that you need to do. First, if your website is going to be about one specific coin then you will want to start an official account on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and other social networking sites. You will want people who support your coin. If your website is not going to be about one specific coin then make sure that you are posting updates on different coins because people like those kinds of websites better because they get updates on more than one single coin.

Second, make sure that you do market research before opening any kind of cryptocurrency business so that way it’s more likely for you to succeed and not fail. Finally, always think positive because it will help keep up your motivation while starting up a cryptocurrency business online or offline.

2) Get a Domain name

First, you’ll need to find an available domain name. You can search for available domains on sites like NameCheap or GoDaddy. If your intended domain name is already taken, there are plenty of alternatives. There are hundreds of thousands of different extensions (.org, .com, .info) and TLDs (Top-Level Domains). If you need help deciding what name would work best for your site, read our guide on choosing a good domain name.

Next, you’ll need to set up your hosting. To run any website, you need access to web hosting. You can either find free hosting (and deal with slow speeds and unreliable uptime) or pay for reliable web hosting (which is generally more expensive). To set up reliable web hosting, we recommend Bluehost or SiteGround. They offer affordable prices and top-notch reliability. You can also check out our list of recommended domain name registrars and hosts for additional recommendations.

Once you’ve got your domain name and web host sorted out, it’s time to install WordPress on your new site!
Installing WordPress is easy with Bluehost or SiteGround. Just click Install WordPress from your cPanel, fill out some info about your site, and hit Submit. It should take only a minute or two to finish up! If you need help along the way, don’t hesitate to check out our guide on installing WordPress.

3) Create a Website

Today, there are many free cryptocurrency websites you can use as a platform for your project. However, if you want something more customized, you’ll have to pay for it (but don’t worry—you don’t need an advanced coding background). Here are some examples of crypto-focused website templates: Free: CoinPayments; paid: ICO Engine and economic. Another option is creating your own from scratch by using drag-and-drop website builders like WebStarts or Squarespace.

Once you have your website, you can start looking for writers. One way is through freelancing websites like Freelancer or Upwork, but there are also plenty of cryptocurrency forums that allow you to post ads. However, keep in mind that many experts consider paid content to be low-quality and ineffective, so it’s best to avoid it if possible. Otherwise, always look for writers who offer an unbiased view on your project and not promotional articles that could confuse your readers.

The last thing you need is a way for people to download your cryptocurrency. There are two main ways to achieve that: either as an executable file or via a browser extension. If you go with an executable file, make sure it’s virus-free and easy for people to install on their computers. If you choose browser extensions, be sure they don’t slow down users’ browsing experience and that they have good reviews from other users.

4) Set up Hosting

Your first step will be choosing where to set up your hosting. Since you’re going to be talking about cryptocurrency, let’s do something different and say you have decided that you’re going with Namecheap. If you can’t decide where is best for hosting, check out our guide on why I chose Namecheap over GoDaddy or Bluehost as a beginner blogger.

Install WordPress: The next step is installing WordPress on your hosting account. Since you already have an account with Namecheap, it’ll only take 2 minutes from purchase until your website is live! One of my favorite features about Namecheap is their free Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate which will make sure your website runs securely and quickly for all visitors.

The next step is creating your website. This can be done through either Softaculous (which will also install WordPress for you) or manually through cPanel. To create an account, we are going to need a name, username, and password, as well as an email address so we can contact you if necessary. Once you have everything filled out, click Create My Account and enter it into your Dashboard. You should see that your WordPress installation has already been set up! Install SSL Certificate: Next we are going to get you an SSL certificate so that no one has any information passed from them from using your site. Remember how I said Namecheap was awesome? This part is why!

5) Set up cryptocurrency plugins

It’s important that you can accept cryptocurrency on your website. The easiest way to do so is with plugins and extensions. If you have an e-commerce website, you can use WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads to accept Bitcoin and altcoins; if you host a regular web page, then it’s probably easiest to just install one of several available plugins for WordPress or another popular content management system (CMS). It’s not difficult to set up cryptocurrency plugins, but if you are new at doing so then here are some quick instructions: For WooCommerce go through these steps. For WordPress go through these steps.

After you have set up your cryptocurrency plugins, you need to configure them. The exact process will depend on which plugins you use and how you wish to set up and accept payments, but there are common steps that are similar for all. First of all, it’s important that users know about crypto payments so that they can prepare themselves for it; something as simple as adding Accepted currencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) somewhere on your website is enough for now.
