Create a Good Bio

Your Instagram bio is one of your most important marketing tools, so take a moment to write something that’s interesting. While you can certainly put writer in your bio, go a little deeper and share a few of your best articles with your followers.

When you share links to your own content, readers are more likely to follow you because they feel invested in what you have to say. As well, when they click on your bio, they’ll see a list of other posts similar to what they just read.

Follow Others in Your Niche

A great way to make money on Instagram is to follow others in your niche, while also following those they follow. When they post pictures, simply tag them and include a link back to your account.

This may result in them visiting your profile, or even following you back. If you’re lucky enough that their followers like your photos as well, you can build a network of potential customers/clients who are interested in what you offer!

This can be an effective strategy if you’re just starting out and trying to build a following. However, it can be more time-consuming than other strategies since you won’t really have control over who starts following you. Focus on those in your niche, though, and perhaps you’ll find others with similar interests as well! If they also follow others, that means even more potential customers are being exposed to your work and products! Win-win situation.

Keep Posting Consistently

No matter how much you care about your audience, if you don’t put in work consistently, your relationship with them will fizzle out. Consistency is key. Once you’ve established a social media presence, try posting 3 times per week consistently for 6 months. How to Make Money on Instagram by Writing

This will help build your reputation and get people accustomed to seeing new content from you on a regular basis. If posting consistently seems too hard at first, start small and post once per day until it feels more natural. Keep practicing—even if it means putting out mediocre content at first—and eventually posting regularly won’t be so difficult anymore.

Write Reviews About Products

There are a lot of different ways you can make money on Instagram. The easiest is to write product reviews, which can be either specific (e.g., The Cuisinart WMR-CA makes an excellent griddle) or more general (e.g., A great way to grill chicken breasts).

Write a review that not only educates your followers but also convinces them they need what you’re reviewing before concluding with your affiliate link and signing off with your name and/or your brand handle. Since influencers are often willing to provide products for free in exchange for honest feedback, there is little risk associated with writing reviews—particularly if you already have a substantial following who trusts your opinion because it seems objective.

Affiliate Marketing

This is a great place to make money if you already have an audience that wants your product. You simply share products or services with them and make a commission from each sale. I personally use Amazon Associates, which is a passive income option.

I just choose what products/services I want, put up links on my website, and am paid for referrals every month! How do you sell something online without having your own product? Well you can start off by selling affiliate products through ClickBank or via more hands-on means like eBay (which doesn’t accept self-promotion). But don’t let that stop you! There are other options out there for getting your brand seen online – even if it’s not in your hands.

Build an Email List

Building an email list of subscribers is one of the most important things you can do for your blogging business. You want as many people as possible to be able to find your content. And, you want it in a place where they can easily check out and support your work.

So, gather emails from those who care about what you’re writing and give them behind-the-scenes access to your life and writing practice. Building an email list is one of those things that can seem so simple, but isn’t so easy. I’ve learned a lot over time, and have improved my subscriber count dramatically. In case you don’t know how it works or you want some tips on growing your own list, here are three ways I build my email list.

Earn From Sponsored Posts and Ads

If you love taking pictures and are good at sharing with your followers, businesses may be willing to pay you for sponsored posts or product placement. Similar to blogging and other social media activities, getting paid requires a consistent schedule of posting items that are relevant to your audience.

If you don’t have time for a photography business but want an extra source of income, consider becoming an influencer. Companies can send you free samples in exchange for pictures of their products in use (with company logos, of course). You can also post about clothing stores that interest you and get paid if someone clicks on it and makes a purchase. It’s not quite as passive as putting up some pretty pics on Instagram, but it’s lucrative nonetheless if done correctly.

It takes time and effort, but there’s no limit to how much you can earn with sponsored posts. Many bloggers make six figures a year just from their sponsored social media posts, so it’s a serious form of income that doesn’t require you to work long hours.

It’s also flexible: even if you get busy with your regular job, you can post when it fits into your schedule. If you find yourself running out of ideas for what to post about, try getting inspired by looking at pictures other influencers are sharing and copying them (just give credit where it’s due!). This is considered fair use in most cases since these influencers have already effectively taken pictures for their followers.
