Startup ideas for education entrepreneurs come from a very wide range of different sources. When trying to develop an idea, many people will go through the following process. Best 20 Startup Ideas For Education Entrepreneurs For Male & Female
It’s important not to confuse these stages as being distinct. Many will move back and forth between them as they move towards refining their final product. In this article, I’m going to explore some of the best startup ideas that have been shared with me, where they came from and how they can be turned into a reality.
Best 20 Startup Ideas For Education Entrepreneurs
1. How to improve exam marking accuracy
This is one of the ideas which was suggested to me at a recent education conference I attended in London. As it’s based on an interesting fact which many people have commented on, it’s a good example of how an apparent issue in education could be turned into a business opportunity. This is the fact:
According to a report from Ofqual, exam marking error rates are as high as 1-3%. The report also states that these errors have been increasing year on year since 2009. The report discusses how improvements can be made to the marking system. However, it doesn’t make any attempt to call out why there has been a change in the rate of errors year on year or what this might mean for students who are affected by it.
2. Online Course Revisions Platform
As most students are aware, the system of revision is usually one where you have to be self-disciplined. Meeting deadlines is usually up to the individual and there are no guarantees that work will be marked in time with relevant feedback given. This idea came from Sam Sowton who runs a website called Revision World.
His idea is to create an online platform where students can upload revision notes or materials and then access them at a later date.
This could be used as part of the process of creating revision timetables as you would have easy access to materials as required. This could also lead to the next startup idea, helping with exam preparation. Further information about this idea can be seen in the video below:
3. Exam Preparation Platform (Exam Help)
This is another idea that has been suggested and developed further by Sam Sowton. The core of this business idea is to create an online platform where students can access information and materials useful for exam preparation. This could either be generic revision notes or content created by qualified teachers.
One example of this is for students with special educational needs. A student might need access to specific revision notes in order to prepare for an exam.
The idea would be that they could find the materials they needed on an online platform and download them onto their own personal device. Additional features might include auto-marked exercises, progress tracking, and analytics.
4. Unique Education Tours
This is one of the startup ideas which came out of my own conference session on education entrepreneurship. This is because one of the key themes which repeatedly appeared was transforming how students learn while also increasing opportunities for teachers.
One method for doing this could be student-led learning trips. These would involve organizing trips to visit sites that are directly linked to the topics being studied.
For example, you could take students on a trip to London where they would be able to visit locations directly related to the storyline in Romeo and Juliet. This would help them learn about the play by providing another context for it outside of what they can see in their textbooks.
The trip could be led by the students themselves who would have control over what they wanted to see. This would also leave teachers free to focus on their own subject areas.
However, this isn’t the only way this startup idea could work. It could also be used as a different kind of student-led learning activity involving group projects. For example, a group of students studying World War 2 could take a trip to France or other relevant locations where they would participate in an activity.
This could be a revision exercise, a role-play scenario involving the Battle of Britain aircrews during the Battle of France, or even something completely different. The students would have control over how their project is conducted and the location where it would take place.
5. Revision App
This is another idea that arises from the suggestion made by Sam Sowton. It’s a simple concept whereby students have access to revision timetables and notes on their smartphones. It could be accessed either through a native application or a web-based platform which would work across different devices.
This would be an effective revision tool as it could be used to track progress and provide feedback. It could also help students who are struggling because the app would let them prioritize their studying based on what they need help with. Feedback from teachers via this platform would make it easy for students to track their own performance which would encourage self-learning.
The key to this startup idea would be providing students with useful, customizable revision materials. This could include notes, flashcards, and even interactive content which would be available on their smartphones. It might also be possible to provide some form of tutor support via the app which would help keep students accountable for their revision schedule.
6. Micro-tutoring
This is a business idea that would allow existing teachers to share their skills with students on an ad-hoc basis. It could either be done through a live platform or done virtually using video chat software such as Skype. In the former case, it would be similar to how micro-tutors currently operate in some countries.
However, it could be more efficient and cost-effective because students could receive instant video-based feedback on their work.
This would mean that micro-tutoring would be easy to scale up. If there were thousands of students receiving support from multiple tutors, the only thing which would need to change is the technology used for delivering this service.
This could mean that the tutors will need to use a combination of smartphones and computers in order to communicate with their students. The only other requirement would be having access to a stable internet connection.
7. Homework Club
This is another example of using technology for different purposes. There are already many homework clubs operating in schools around the world, but they’re usually done either in-person or through a school website. In this case, I suggest running it through an app that would make it more accessible for everyone involved.
It could be used by individual students who want to get help from other classmates. This could be useful when they don’t have time to ask their own teachers, or because they want to get more help than what they would receive from their classroom teacher. It could also be used by teachers as a way of sharing resources between different classrooms or even entire schools.
8. Online Tutoring Platform
This is another startup idea that is similar to micro-tutoring, but it’s done on a larger scale. It would work by connecting students who are available to teach certain subjects with people who want help learning those subjects.
This could be done through the same sort of video chat technology that would be used for micro-tutoring, or it could work like a marketplace where private tutors post details about their services and potential customers contact them directly.
The benefit of this approach is that it could be done without any initial investment. The core costs would only come through if the marketplace becomes popular and needs to scale up. It would also need a newer technology platform in order to accommodate more users especially when classes get bigger. This can be either cloud-based or locally hosted on individual computers using software such as XAMPP.
9. Individually Customised Textbooks
This is another example of the kind of technology which could help students learn. Right now, it’s common for publishers to produce books in line with a specific curriculum or syllabus. In this case, I’m suggesting creating a platform where teachers can work together to create a book that suits the needs of their students.
In order to make this possible, the platform would need to allow teachers to add new content and interact with other users. It might also be a good idea for it to be able to use some kind of automatic translation software that would convert words into the appropriate language. This would help teachers who aren’t proficient in English or simply don’t have time to learn it.
10. General Whiteboarding App
This last idea is more of a productivity tool than an education-specific one. It would be a web app similar to the collaborative whiteboard software known as Etherpad, but it would be used for brainstorming, note-taking, and organizing ideas during lectures or meetings.
The benefit of this approach is that it doesn’t require a lot of initial investment. It can be done using a computer and a virtual whiteboard, or it could work by using the existing cameras and microphones which come with laptops. There’s also no need to hire developers because there are plenty of open-source software projects which already do this type of thing.
11 . Educational Game Platform
This final idea is about creating an online platform that would provide access to the largest collection of educational games ever gathered. It would work by using contributions from anyone who wants to share their content. This could be done through uploading images, videos, and text files containing questions, answers, or any other type of interaction required in a game.
The benefit of this approach is that it could work with almost any existing game, template, or interactive software. The platform would simply need to be able to extract the necessary parts and upload them into an online database. Once that’s done, users can then access these games in order to play them or reuse their assets when making new ones.
12 . Learning Management System
This is another popular online learning software that is used for managing lectures, assignments, and coursework. It works by using a scheduling calendar that allows users to book rooms or lecture theatres automatically. There’s also an assignment submission feature that makes it easy for teachers to upload their work so that students can access them later.
This type of software could be used to manage any course, event, or activity. It’s possible to customize it in order to suit the needs and requirements of specific institutions and organizations. The core costs would simply be in hiring developers and security experts in order to implement certain changes and patch known vulnerabilities.
13 . Translation Plugin
This final idea is another potential plugin for WordPress users. It uses natural language processing software that can translate almost anything into any other form of writing. That means that, once the plugin has been installed, it would be possible to turn text written in one language into something which can be displayed on a website written in another.
14 . Educational Programming Language
There’s a lot of debate about which programming language would be best for teaching students how to code. Some people say that Python is the most reliable and effective way to do so, while others claim that C++ is the only real option. This last idea involves creating an entirely new language that has been designed with education in mind.
It has all the usual features which you would expect to see in a programming language, but it uses more straightforward syntax and doesn’t include any of the confusing or complicated elements which are difficult for students to understand.
15 . Educational Quiz
This is another educational online software that students can use to help them study for an upcoming test. It’s available as a WordPress plugin, so it would be easy to install on any website within just a few minutes. Once it’s ready, the teacher simply needs to set the questions and answers for each quiz he or she wants to run.
Questions and answers can be edited at any time, which means that teachers could even use it to run practice questions between lessons. It also creates a records section where users can see how well they did in previous quizzes, so there wouldn’t be any need to keep track of paper notes or other types of records that students might lose.
16. eCommerce Education Platform
This online platform is another one that would provide users with access to the best educational courses, seminars, and workshops ever created. It works by using a monthly subscription model through which anyone can gain access to recorded lectures, tutorial videos, and other types of training materials. The only requirement is that they need to be over the age of 18.
There are a number of different features which make this approach more effective than some other eCommerce education platforms, such as the fact that it’s easy to browse and search for courses based on specific topics or requirements. The platform also includes online tests which allow users to check their progress in real-time, so they can learn at their own pace.
17 . Public Speaking Software
This final idea is one that could really benefit those who work at a higher level of education, such as professors and lecturers. It’s called ‘SpeechManager’ and it’s available as an online platform which can be accessed from any computer or mobile device. Once it has been installed, all a professor needs to do is set the topic and time limit for their speech, then press ‘Start Speaking’.
The software uses natural language processing technology which means that it can detect when someone has gone off-topic or started talking too quickly. It makes adjustments to the speed at which they’re speaking and highlights any areas where they need to slow down or pause. The platform also has several different layouts to choose from, depending on the type of presentation which is about to be made.
18 . Learning Management Software (LMS)
Aligning with the continuous growth in online education, various educational institutions are now offering online courses for students who are interested in learning new skills or gaining qualifications in a particular subject. LMS is dedicated to building and supporting educational institutions, businesses, and individuals by providing online tools and resources which can help them run courses and track student progress more effectively.

19 . Coding Robot
The final idea we’ll be looking at today comes from an American robotics company that has designed a robot specifically for teaching children how to code. Called ‘Dash & Dot’, the robot has a series of buttons and sliders that anyone can use to program a sequence of commands in just a few easy steps. All a child needs to do is drag and drop certain actions into place, then they can simply press ‘Play’ to see their creation come to life.
20 . Social Network For Teachers
This final idea is one that would really help teachers keep up with all the latest news and updates relating to their profession. It’s called ‘My Classroom’ and it allows users to set up a profile page for themselves where they can upload documents, photos, and other types of online content. They can also follow posts from other teachers who work at the same school or in the same subject, so they don’t miss any important news.

conclusion
In conclusion, all of these ideas have the potential to become real products that could help students from around the world. The only obstacle would be finding customers and developers who are willing to work on them.
This is why I’m suggesting that both groups could come together through a website such as crowdsourcing or Kickstarter. The latter might be especially useful because it would create a community of supporters who are interested in helping these projects come to life.
